Dance Center Evanston
Dance Center Evanston (DCE), under the direction of Béa Rashid, offers a progressive dance training program for children ages 3-18, and adults. Now in its 32nd year, DCE has worked hard to develop and maintain its reputation as the premiere training program in the area. DCE offers over 120 classes each week teaching ballet, modern, jazz, tap, hop hop, boys, and men’s classes. There are also adult offerings during the morning and evenings.
Dance Center Evanston was established in 1994, opening downtown Evanston on Davis Street. In 1997, The Evanston Dance Ensemble was established as a not-for-profit performance company. In 2004, DCE and EDE moved to the Evanston Plaza Shopping Center. ede2, the second performing company whose mission is outreach was established in 2011. In 2015, DCE expanded, and built Studio5, a state of the art performing arts venue. In addition to presenting its own youth dancers, Studio5 offers a season of professional music event curated by Steve Rashid, as well as dance and comedy performances.
