Established in 1979, Blind Faith Cafe is a certified green restaurant that has been transforming the way people enjoy vegetarian cuisine for more than forty years. Can you share some of the history of your business?
Blind Faith Café opened in 1979 and turns 47 this October! Owned and operated by David Lipschutz (a 50-year Evanston native) Blind Faith is the oldest, largest and most innovative Vegetarian Restaurant and Bakery in the Metro Chicago area.

What can folks expect if they come to your business?
Great Food, Exceptional Service and a Relaxed Dining Experience

What are you best known for?
Vegetarian Cuisine, Vegan Cuisine, Vegan and Gluten-Free Desserts

How do you set yourself apart from other similar businesses?
That’s easy, there are no similar businesses.

Any specials or services (or a fun fact) you’d like people to be aware of?
I think I covered it above and maybe in the next question. However, over and above our
decades of serving Evanston and our unique concept you might mention we have a full
liquor license.

What is your favorite thing about running a business in Evanston?  
I love being part of the backdrop of people’s lives for over four decades. A familiar way
they enjoy or remember Evanston. I get letters from people asking about a recipe for
something they had here 30 years ago. I constantly meet people in the restaurant who tell me they are in town visiting, haven’t been here for years and are so happy to find the restaurant thriving. I’ve also fed and employed four generations of Evanstonians. When I have a quiet moment to sit back
and relax it makes all the hard work worth it.
